Hi everyone! It's me, Sebastian!
At first I thought about writing another travel blog today, but then I thought about writing something more "useful" for your daily life here in Tokyo.
The thing I am writing about today is a chain restaurant which is called "Gyuu-kaku" (牛角). This restaurant serves Yakiniku (焼肉) which describes Japans grilled meat dishes. Back in Germany I haven't seen any restaurant like the ones here (We just do BBQ on our balconies or in parks). Although it is a chain restaurant, the meat is very delicious!
?If you enter the restaurant you will be led to a table that has a built in grill. It looks like this:
The first time the waiter/waitress comes to your table you order drinks and get an iPad that you use to order the raw beef/pork/chicken meat. Of course you can also order vegetables, salad or rice.
Here is the meat before and during grilling:
After I was done eating I just randomly looked at the menu and saw a desert called popcorn ice cream. And I just had to try it.
Vanilla ice cream covered with salty and caramel popcorn. Very sweet (duh!) but very, very delicious.
If you like meat or just want to experience a somewhat different restaurant then I recommend you stop by there some time. There are actually two restaurants here in Asakusa. One is near the Asakusa train station. So if you're interested just ask us and we can guide you! :)
Have a nice day and see you soon!
