Hi there! This is Ayu from Sakura Hostel Asakusa.
Today, it's soooooo cold like winter here in Tokyo.
When I walked out of my apartment this morning, I decided to change my light jacket to winter coat.
If you're coming to Japan soon, please prepare warm clothes as well.
Anyway, due to the cold weather, I wanted to have a hot pot today.
But! My favorite Chinese hot pot restaurant is closed on Wednesday! What a pity...
In my mind, I was going to take the photo and introduce it on this blog today.
Let me save it for the future.
So, this time I'm going to show you one of my favorite hot food restaurant in Seoul.
When you hear "hot food in Seoul", you may think of spicy food, but this is not.
It's Samgyetang with Abalone!
Samgyetang means ginseng-chicken-soup.
Standard samgyetang consists of a whole young chicken filled with rice, seasonings and Korean ginseng.
However, in this restaurant, they put fresh abalones onto the chicken!
It's so nourishing and gentle taste for your stomach, so please try it if you're tired of spicy food in Korea.
Middle size (W35,000) will be good for 2-3 persons, so it's quite reasonable for Abalone!
As is always in Korea, all menu comes with small dishes.
The restaurant is called "SUMOKWONG" (水木苑) and the nearest subway station is Korea Univ on Line 6.
It is 10-15 minutes walk from the station, so I also recommend to take a local bus (No.210) from Seoul Station Terminal to King Sejong The Great Memorial Hall, which is only a few min to the restaurant.
Actually, I'm visiting Seoul again in the end of November.
I can't wait for having this hot pot again!
