Hi there! This is Ayu from Sakura Hostel Asakusa.
On the other day, we held "Okonomiyaki Lunch & Local Tour" with our guests.
We've been holding this event several times from time to time, and this time we planned only a week before, but 4 guests have joined us! Thank you!!
First, we made OKONOMIYAKI together in the hostel kitchen.
OKONOMIYAKI is like a pancake, but is not sweet.
With various toppings...
Great job!! Looks so yummy!!
After the lunch, we visited 2 temples and 1 shrine in Asakusa area.
Compared to Senso-ji temple, those are all not so popular for tourists from abroad, but is very familiar to locals.
Can you see what's in the center?
Yes, it's DAIKON, Japanese raddish.
From the old times in this area, they are thought to represent our?foul passion, so people dedicate them to the god and pray for purifying their spirits.
It's a very unique tradition, isn't it?
In another temple, we had an opportunity to ring their old bell. It is very rare!
When we got to the third place, everyone acquired how to purify your hands and mouth before praying.
It is a very important manner when you go to a temple or a shrine.
Imado Shrine is famous for having many cat dolls "Maneki Neko".
As we were a small group, we could be good friends through the tour!
We hold many events for hostel guests. You can always check our coming up events in our website!
See you around^^
