Hi there! This is Ayu from Sakura Hostel Asakusa.
It is still cold here in Tokyo, but it sure is getting warmer day by day.
What do you think of when you hear the word "SPRING"?
In Japan, school year ends in March and starts in April, so spring is thought to be a season of graduation and enrollment.
Many people would also think of SAKURA (桜), cherry blossoms.
Besides sakura, many different kinds of flowers will come into bloom, and it's the season of KAFUN-SHO (花粉症), pollen allergy.
This is one of the reasons why you see many people wearing mask in this season.
For me, I'm allergic to pollen too,
but spring is the beginning of FOOTBALL & BASEBALL season!!
I went to more than 30 games last year, and I couldn't wait for new season during the winter!
Actually, Japanese professional baseball league has just started their pre-season matches yesterday.
They'll play about 15 games until March 21st, and regular season starts on March 25th.
For more info for Japanese professional baseball league, please refer to NPB website.
I'm happy to find the website looks much better than last year!
If you're a football fan, J.league will start their 2016 season this weekend!
From tomorrow, I will take 1 week off to go back to my hometown, and will go to the opener on Feb.27 (Sat) and 28 (Sun).
I'm so excited to be back in the enthusiasm of the stadium!!
I'm planning to go to more than 30 games this year too.
We may hold Baseball Watching Tour with our guests as we did last year. It was so fun!
I'll let you know as soon as we decide the schedule.
I hope you'll enjoy my (and Tada's too!) blog articles about football and baseball this year.
See you around^^
