Hi everyone! This is Ayu from Sakura Hostel Asakusa.
I had been writing about my past trip to Sado Island, and in the last, I mentioned my next destination.
Can you guess where it is?
The photo above is one of the popular & famous tourist spots calle "Kenroku-en".
It was raining when I visited there, but the garden was still very beautiful.
I had been there in winter several years before, and the garden with snow was much more beautiful.
It's very cold in winter, but worth visiting!
After Hokiriku Shinkansen (bullet train) route opened in March 2015, Kanazawa is becoming more popular as a destination for tourists from all over the world.
It takes only 2.5 hours from Tokyo, so it's even good for day trip!
I also visited "Higashi Chaya District".
"Chaya" means a place where Geisha entertain guests with their performance.
These "Chaya" as well as Kenroku-en garden were built in Edo period.
In Edo period, Kanazawa was part of Kaga domain ruled by Maeda clan.
Kaga domain was the richiest in Japan at that time, so they had such florishing culture.
I met a cute guide in Higashi Chaya District.
He? She? led me to another street...
Oh, one more friend appeared! Where are they going...?
To their secret spot!
This kind of thing is also a nice part of traveling, isn't it?
Next time I will show you some interesting souvenirs I found in Kanazawa.
See you around^^
