Hi there! This is Ayu from Sakura Hostel Asakusa.
This is the article Part 2 on my trip to Sendai city.
In Part 1, I wrote about the football stadium in this city.
The stadium is called ''Yurtec Stadium'' and it is close to the subway station ''Izumi Chuo''.
Every time I visit this city, it's to go to this stadium, so I usually use subway.
But this time, I try riding the sightseeing bus as well.
If you find this bordeaux color sign, that's the bus stop for ''LOOPLE SENDAI''.
Yes, as you can see from the name, it is a city loop bus.
The bus is retro style like this!
I rode this bus to here!
Sendai Castle Ruins!
We can't see the castle itself anymore as some parts were destroyed by the large fire in 1882 and the rest in World War II as well.
However, many tourist still visit there to see this statue.
He was a powerful feudal lord in this region from Azuchi-Momoyama period to early Edo period, and began constructing this castle in early 17th century.
As is often seen at Japanese castles, there's a shrine called ''Gokoku Jinja'' next to the castle.
It was very beautiful!
I really liked their gourd-shaped charm.
You can buy one for souvenir of course!
I wanted to visit Sendai City Museum which is located on the foot of the castle, but it was closed on that day.
I just look around the statues outside the building.
Another statue of Date Masamune found!
Well, this is all for today. But my trip in Sendai still goes on.
See you next time^^
