Hello everyone!! This is Yima from Sakura Hostel Asakusa.
The past few days some guests left for Tuna auction at 3:30 am by taxi.
But!!!! They couldn't catch it. Already reached to limit when they got there!!
I thought Tuna auction of Tukiji became more and more popular.
Especially during summer, should be there 3 am to wait.
I have some pictures taken on last November.
Then I got there around 3:30 am.
Some people were still waiting there.
Then it was just middle of winter, we were wearing thick clothes...
Almost 4 am, a stuff guided us to a warm room to wait.
Comfortable!! Air-conditionar was turning on.
Leted us wear a yellow or green jackets to separate groups.
Yellow jackets were first group then.
Gave us a explenation print with registration number on the right bottom. I got 11.
A couple of groups for nearly 120 people (one group for about 60 people) can watch the auction each day.
Nobody can be sure which date is busy.
It's first-come, first-served.
Should be there once during your trip in Japan.
