Yesterday we visited SUMO Stable in Ryogoku with our guests :)
I'm going to report how the visit was with the pictures.
This training is called "Shiko (四股)" for stretching legs.
The SUMO wrestlers consider this training most important.
This is the training called "Suri-Ashi (摺り足)" to keep bottoms of feet always on the ground.
To maintain the balance at the matches, Suri-Ashi is quite important.
Our guests were watching very seriously.
The push-ups by SUMO wrestlers.
Can you imagine that they weigh more than 100 kg?
This is the training called "Butsukari Geiko (ぶつかり稽古)" for raising the skill of pushing and attacking.
Younger wrestlers told that this training is hardest one.
After the hard and strict training, they don't forget to cool their muscles down by stretching.
In each SUMO stables, there is a professional hair stylist.
After the shower, he does the wrestlers' hair.

We enjoyed the meal after watching the training!
