Hi there! This is Ayu from Sakura Hostel Asakusa.
As I announced last time, I went to Kashima Soccer Stadium last week.
To be frank, we lost the game again... T T
We scored first in the 1st half, but they, Antlers, scored 3 goals in the 2nd half and we lost...
It was very windy and dry in the 1st half, but turned to very humid wind in the 2nd, and that made our players slow down.
In contrast, Antlers players seemed to be know how to fit to the change of weather.
That is one of the reason why it's more difficult when we play in away stadium.
When the game is over, I was also worn out X(
Anyway, Antlers is a very good, strong team.
They have all-time high numbers of J.League championships.
As some of you might know, the former great Brazilian players Zico and Leonardo used to play in this team.
After the game, I had to hurry up to catch the last train home!
Between Tokyo and Kashima Stadium, highway bus is available, but the reserved seats are all sold out beforehand.
There's also non-reserved car, but it's kinda risky to line up as there will be so many people after the game.
If I can't squeeze myself into the bus, I can't go home!
Even if I made it, I might not be able to transfer to the last subway home if there's any delay due to the traffic jam!
So, I decided to take the safer but much longer route... transfer 4 trains.
Right in front of the stadium, there is ''Kashima Soccer Stadium'' station.
This station is open only on the match days.
The train will take us to Kashima Jingu station.
The station is located right in front of Kashima Jingu, a very large and historical shrine.
If you have time before or after the match, you should defenitely visit there.
This time, I gave up stopping by there before the game because of the rainy weather and delay of the highway bus.
I wish I could take some photos and put them here.
From Kashima Jingu station, we have to ride JR Kashima Line, Narita Line, and Airport Rapid/Sobu Line.
It was such a long way!!
If you're going to this stadium from Tokyo, I strongly recommend to book the direct highway bus.
It'll be much easier if you access from Narita Airport.
You still need to transfer 3 times if you go by train, but it's only 40 minutes by car!
I'm not good at driving, but I'll try if I have chance to visit there again.
Well, this is all for my short trip to Kashima Stadium.
Aaaaaand! This week! I'm going to another city for the game again!
Guess where I'm going!
See you next time^^
