Hi there! This is Ayu from Sakura Hostel Asakusa.
Did you already read Part 1 and Part 2 of my trip to Niigata?
After that, on the next day of the game, some Albirex supporters took us on a tour!
First of all, we visited a shopping street in downtown, Furumachi area.
In this street, you can find several bronze statues of baseball players.
However, these are not existing players.
They are characters from famous Japanese mangas by Shinji Mizushima from Niigata city.
This street is called ''Mizushima Shinji Manga Street'' but many people call it ''DOKABEN Road'' after the title of his representative work.
Recently, one of these statues below got very famous.
Do you know why?
Here is the reason!
It looks like he's hitting my hip, doesn't it?
Recently taking such photos with this statue is in boom. It's called ''KETSU-BAT GIRL''.
* KETSU means HIP in Japanese.
In the official tumblr page, you can see more KETSU-BAT GIRLS!
If you're a manga fan and have chance to visit there, don't miss Niigata City Manga House in the same area.
I didn't have time to visit this time, but it's free of charge!
They also have Niigata Manga Animation Museum in Bandai area.
If you're interested, you can get more tourist information in Niigata CIty Official Tourist Information Website. (English, Chinese, Korean, French and Russian available)
After that, we drove out of the capital city...
See you next time!!
