Hi there! This is Ayu from Sakura Hostel Asakusa.
As I mentioned before, I went back to my hometown, Fukuoka last month.
I traveled to South Korea, and came back to Japan by ship.
It had been about 5 month since I went home, so I got excited as I approached to Fukuoka!
From the airport to the central city, it's only 5 minutes by subway!
Those main areas are very close to each other, and connected by subway or buses.
Today, I introduce the area called ''TENJIN'', which is biggest shopping town in Fukuoka pref, or in Kyushu district.
There are many buidings, department stores and shops along Watanabe-dori, the main street.
You'll also surprised to find so many bus stops along this street.
Fukuoka is the city having top number of buses and bus routes in the world!
Right under this Watanabe-dori st., there's another shopping street ''Tenjin chika-gai''.
About 150 shops are along this 600 meters long underground shopping street.
If you take JR lines, you have to go to Halata station, but there's another railway available from Tenjin area.
It's called Nishitetsu Railway, and you can go to other tourist spot called ''Dazaifu'' or ''Yanagawa'' by this train.
When you need any touristic information in Tenjin, visit here!
Fukuoka Tourist Information Center!
Before I started to work in Sakura Hostel Asakusa, I used to work there!
You can get wide variety of information on Fukuoka and other prefectures of Kyushu district from many brochures.
They have many in English, Korean or Chinese, of course!
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask the staffs at the counter. They are all very helpful!!
Well, this is all for today.
This time I got a lot of brochures and information from there, so I'll introduce other spots in Fukuoka and Kyushu later!
See you around^^
