as you know now is the peak of fireworks season in Japan. There are fireworks every week-end.
For example, yesterday my Hong Kong friend went to one in Saitama she was wearing a yukata! (so cute- but no photo for you I didn't ask her permission to put her photo on the blog).
on August 14th there will be a Chinese lanterns event.
This event is called tourou nagashi (とうろう流し). This is also held all around Japan. and in Asakusa: it will be on the Sumida river bank.

You put the lanterns on the river and let it flow away to the Ocean while praying for Peace.
and this year it would be specialy held for the survivors of March earthquake.
