What is the best restaurant for Lunch in Asakusa?: Staff's recommendation Part 4

My recommendation is ....

夏の家(Natsu no ya)

resizePhoto-0023.jpg

It is very close to the Hanayashiki-Park and I go there a lot for lunch!
The people are very nice and cheery. And of course the food is fresh and GOOD and they have very good prices too!

(Protip: Ask them for the name of the restaurant.)

Last time I had Sashimi:

Bento Box in Asakusa

(June 27, 2010 10:41 AM)

Guess how much this bento box is!

It is.....

2

5

0

Yen!!!

A bento box usually costs at least 500 yen.
(In case you don't know much about prices in Japan...
A set menu at McDonald's with a hamburger, French fries and a drink, is about 600 yen.)

But this place sells all the bento boxes for 250 yen.

"Paku Paku" is the name of this bento shop. It's only 5 minutes from the hostel.
The taste is "OK", nothing special. But the price is really special.

"Andesu" Japanese red bean bakery....

(June 26, 2010 4:21 PM)

"Andesu" has same pronounciation with "The Andes" in South America.
And it mean far different from it's meaning.
It is a Bakery with red bean cream in the bread called "ANPAN" in Japanese.

This name from quit unique origin. "AN"means "Red bean cream" in Japanese.
And "DESU"means "IS or BE".,so it means "This is AN or ANPAN"
P6120108.JPG
Originally, there was a retailer for "AN" and a retailer for bread ("PAN"in Japanese).
These two married and made a bakery called "Andesu".
P6120109.JPG

They also serve some other sweets and products from red bean and normal bakery.
And teast good. you will enjoy!!!!

P6120112.JPG

It is 5minute walk from hostel. go and get some "ANPAN"lol

Why Naoto can't sleep?

Posted by: Naoto
(June 25, 2010 6:16 PM)

2 big reasons

One of the reasons is Japan's victory!!!!
Japan knock off Denmark.
Shibuya was filled with enthusiastic supporters all night long.
I was so excited after watching the game.
I just stayed up and came to work directly.
Now I feel exhausted...
kuri 2.JPG

That means I'm not young enough huh? lol

But the most reason I couldn't sleep is because of......

iPhone 4!!!!
kuri.JPG

The new iPhone 4 was just released yesterday!

I was standing in line for getting the new iPhone 4. I took the last train to go to Akihabara,
and waited for 10 hours. Some people were already in line 3 days ago. That's insane!
Only 100 people could get the phone on that day.
The 3rd person behind me wasn't able to get it. I was so luckey!

But there is one problem.
I just start having iPhone, so that everything is new to me.
I don't know how to send an e-mail, transfer my old data, and set up a ringtone.
I spent so much time just figure it out.
There is no direction provided, so I have to search everything online.
This is hard for old type guy like me.
somebody, anybody... HELP ME.

I definitely go to “Alcatraz ER.” to get charged by my nurses.

There is a new member from Germany from today on for the next 2 months. I think if I get used to everything we can have a good time here.
I walked around Asakusa to learn about the place and took a few photos for you:

You can walk through the "Nakamise Street" to the "Sensouji Temple":
nakamise.JPG

The temple area is just beyond the gate...

... but it is under construction at the moment

Jack was used to be a gang sta.

He acted the fool in his school year...
You want a piece of me, huh? Bring it on!

But he started a new life when he got a daughter in 2008.

And just yesterday, he got a 2nd baby!!!

He supported his wife the entire time until the baby came out.
What a nice husband!
The best smile with his sweet son.

The best spots during the rainy season ~Ryoko's Case~

(June 18, 2010 8:56 PM)

My recomendation during the rainy season is Echika!!
エチカ.jpg

Echika's name comes from ''Ekichika'' (station underground).
It is built by Tokyo Metro.

It has everything, such as fashion, cosmetics, food court, bars, quick hair cut, and relaxation.

You don't need to get out to the ground anymore.

My most recommended shop in Echika is...

this pafet shop named ''Mametorou.'' It is in Echika Ikebukuro
mame.jpg

Another Echika locate at Omotesando & Ueno.

When you feel down in this rain, just take a subway and enjoy the undergraund shopping!!!
