Hi there! This is Ayu from Sakura Hostel Asakusa.
This morning, I visited a town called Kichijoji located in west part of Tokyo.
It's about 15 min by JR train from Shinjuku, and about 50 min from our hostel.
The area is very different in the north and south side of the station.
The picture above is North exit of Kichijoji station, and it's very busy all the time.
There are 2 long shopping streets and I could find many people shopping even in the morning.
Let's move on to the south side.
The south exit is called 'Park Exit'.
Yes, they have a big park in Kichijoji. Maybe some of youmight have heard about it...
It's Inokashira Park?!
The leaves are beginning to turn yellow, and will be much more beautiful in November, I guess.
They have a big lake and you can ride boats.
Swan boats are available as well!
They also have a zoo, a shrine,
and one more thing you cannot miss in this area is...
GHIBLI MUSEUM ! !
However, you need to make a reservation to enter this museum.
If you're reserving the ticket after you arrive in Japan (1 week before or so), it's usually too late.
They start the sale on the 1st day 2 month before the date!
There are also ways to reserve it from abroad, so make sure to check the info on their official website.
If you succeed in reserving the ticket, please explore the town of Kichijoji, and I'm sure you'll like this exciting but relaxing town!
See you around ^^
