It has been colder since it became December in Japan.
What do you eat for such cold days in your countries ?
The popular food in Japan in winter is Nabe dishes (Nabe).
Nabe is an earthen pot dish in which some ingredients are cooked together.
The popular contents for Nabe are as follows below. vegetables: Chinese cabbage, carrot, green onion,Garland chrysanthemum(shungiku), mushrooms, leek
Meat: pork, beef, chicken
Fish and shellfish: salmon, oyster, cod, crab, scallop
others: egg, tofu, etc....... Have you ever cooked Nabe ? It's really easy !! Just two steps. 1:chop the ingredients and put them in a pot.
2:boil them and taste in it. These are so helpful for tasting.

But please taste them as you want. They usually use salt, soy sauce, and miso.
There is a large variety of Nabe dishes in Japan.
Here are examples our staff like. Agu and Naoto like Kimchi nabe, Korean taste one tasted with Kimchi.
It is hot and spicy !! But the most popular one in Japan (I guess)
Hiro likes Chanko-nabe(Sumo wrestler nabe)
Chanko-nabe is a dish in which many nutritious foods are cooked together and tasted with miso(mostly).
I (Tomoyuki) like Kakino dote nabe(Oyster nabe tasted miso)
This nabe is a little different from others that we make bank of miso at the edge of the pot before we put the ingredients.
Then we eat it with melting the miso.
Johrel likes Tomato nabe.
This nabe is a kind of new, we put tomato there and taste.
And Tomo likes the most simple one Mizutaki-nabe.
This is not tasted, so you can put anything on the ingredients after being boiled.
Which is your favourite ? Enjoy your Nabe life in Japan !! ヽ(〃'▽'〃)ノ☆
