Hello

I've been traveling to Japan for many years but I've only become a regular photographer a few years ago.
I always enjoy staying at the Asakusa Sakura Hostel. The staff there is so kind and helpful.

Since Japan has 4 distinct seasons, I've been wanting to get pictures of Japan during each season. In December of 2010, I traveled to Japan to take pictures of the Fall colors. It was my first trip to Japan to see the beautiful colors at the Shrines and Temples. On Dec 2, 2010, I met a friend at the Harajuku station and we walked through the Meiji Shrine area and gardens. It was a nice sunny day and the air was cool. As we walked through the park, I fell in love with all the red, orange, and yellow colors of the trees. It was a side of Japan that I had never seen. I'm so amazed how I can go to a place I've been to many times, yet it is different every time.

When I saw a post on Facebook about the photo contest, I thought for a while about what kind of picture to submit. I looked at a few of the early submissions. Many of them showed the big buildings of Shinjuku or the electric colors of Akihabara. I realized that had some pictures which were very different from the other pictures so I decided to submit the picture taken in the garden at Meiji. It captures the traditional side of Japan of the old days. It is a side of Japan not often seen in the big city of Tokyo. Meiji is a special island of old Japan in the middle of the city.
I really loved it and wanted to share it with everyone.

Colored leaves are lighted up at many places in Tokyo, and let us enjoy seeing them.
