Analog TV Broadcasting ends
Analog TV broadcasting ended in Japan just yesterday after 58 years, except stricken areas in Iwate prefecture, Miyagi Prefecture, Fukushima Prefecture.
This becomes the first Asian nation to complete the transition to digital transmission.
Although many households rushed to purchase digital TV or tuners and antennas for the last few months, as many as 700,000 households throughout Japan have not yet purchased digital TV. A lot of people were not be able to purchase one because of the shortage of TVs at electronic shops.

Digital TV is much clearer than analog TV as you can see in the picture below.
Two TVs on the top are analog TVs, and below is the Digital TV.

Some countries have already started the digital TV broadcasting, and in later years, more countries will switch to digital.
