Save Energy

Tokyo Electric Power Company is carrying out "Rolling Blackout",
which is that the power supply is cut off in each region systematically.

Kanto area is divided into five blocks,
and the power supply is cut off in each region for about three hours
from 6:20 AM to 22:00 PM.

They assume that the maximum power demand is about 41 million kW
between 18:00 and 19:00 PM.
Unfortunately, their supply capability is 31 million kW.
This means 10 million kW in total is insufficient.

Therefore,
they also ask for power saving to the ordinary homes
as well as the big electric power consumers such as the enterprises.

The restaurants turn off the signboard lighting, set the room temperature lower than usual...

The hotels gather the guests to the rooms on the same floor,
and turn off the lighting and the air-conditioning of the floor where the guests don't stay....

Thanks to everyone's effort,
the actual demand on March 14th was greatly less than expected.

< 10:00 AM >
3,800 million KW (expected) / 2,900 million KW (actual)

< 16:00 PM >
3,500 million KW (expected) / 2,600 million KW (actual)

< 18:00-19:00 PM >
4,100 million KW (expected) / 2,800 million KW (actual)

Each actual demand was about 9 million KW lower than the expected demand.
We can say that our power saving got a good result.

Current situation is as follows :
Depending on the actual demand trend,
there's a chance that "Rolling Blackout" isn't carried out.

Fortunately, the blackout has not been carried out in Asakusa.

We should unite to get over this tragedy.
First of all, we keep saving electricity. ┌|*゚ロ゚|人|゚ロ゚*|┐
