HINA MATSURI
Tomorrow is March 3rd.
It's a special day for girls in Japan.
We have the Doll Festival , which is called Hina-Matsuri in Japanese, on March 3.
It's also known as Momo-no-Sekku or Peach Festival.
It's the day to pray for healthy growth and happiness for young girls.
Most families with girls display graceful dolls in beautiful ancient court costumes
called Hina-Ningyo.

They depict the imperial court.
The girls are expected to be as elegant as these courtly ladies.
In celebration of Hina-Matsuri,
we eat traditional dishes like Chirashi Sushi and clam soup.
Also, we eat sweet rice crackers called "Hina Arare", and drink white sake called "Shirozake".
How about Hina-Matsuri Party with the girl friends?
