It is a religious rite to drive out the plague and purify the spirits on their passage to the next world.

18th - Yabusame
Yabusame is a type of mounted archery in traditional Japanese archery.
An archer on a running horse shoots three special "turnip-headed" arrows successively at three wooden targets.

26th - Nakizumo Festival
Crying sumo festival took place Sunday as babies competed to bawl the loudest in the arms of sumo wrestlers as a prayer to the gods for good health.

Make sushi at the hostel and take them under Sakura trees along the sumida river. Enjoy flower viewing with your sushi! It's Japanese traditional custom of enjoying the beauty of flowers.
