Information of Tokyo.

metropolis.jpg
If you are in Japan, You may have read Metropolis magazine or Tokyo notice board.
These are very useful because most of information about Tokyo this week are available.
For example, events, clubs, cinemas, concerts, restaurants and so on.
Also, you can find some tips about living in Tokyo.

I reccommend you to check them out not only for residents but for travelers.
They are available here;)

We are waiting for your coming back with hot drinks here anytime:)

Bump bump.

butsukaru.jpg
Sakura Hostel is a modern concrete building.
It's very strong but if you bang into a wall,
you will get a bump as Tomo did last week:P

So, we put some cushionings on the wall to avoid getting hurts.
We changed them this evening to a new one.
Don't get any hurt during your trip:)

Tokyo International Anime Fair

TAF.jpg
http://www.tokyoanime.jp/en/index.php

Are you interested in Japanese Anime? Or you are already big fan of them?
On the 29th&30th of Mar, we have Tokyo International Anime Fair at Tokyo Big sight.

Honestly, I am not interested in animations.
But these days, I'm getting to know how big influence
it has been given to the other countries.

Our guests know Japanese pop musics much more than me.
They know it from Japanese animation.
Some guests are studying Japanese from it.

Just like I'm studying English from American sitcoms:)

Our guests sometimes ask me about some good clubs in Tokyo but
unfortunately, I rarely go to clubs and have no information about it.

If you know any in Tokyo, please let me know;)

Everyone, have a lovely night♪
I'm working right now, though:P

Tomo misses...

This is Tomo's favorite snack, called Poppuru.
She loves something salty crunchy snacks a lot.
poppuru.jpg
This is deep fried pasta flavored with salt.

I see her always eating those kind of snacks after lunch.
I guess she eats them after dinner as an appetizer with beer;)

japanesepeanuts.jpg
Also, Tomo loves this↑↑
Even though it's called Japanese Peanuts(cacahuates japoneses in Spanish),
we can't get them here in Japan:(

I miss....

honeybranches.jpg
This is my favorie cereal when I was in the U.S.
but I can't find the same one in Tokyo:<

Of course, we do have some cereal here but not so many varieties like in America.
Do you like cereal?
If so, please let me know your favorite one♪
I'll try when I go to your country:)

My result for today...

I left Sakura Hostel at 10:10 to see the runners of Tokyo Marathon
in front of Kaminarimon Gate today.
Because I wanted to take some pictures...but when I arrived there,
there were already sooooo many people and there was no space for me to take photos.

I did my best though :P
↓↓↓
tokyomarathon0801.jpg

I only could see the audience and bunch of policemen there.

Tokyo Marathon 2008

The runners are going to pass by in front of Kaminari-mon Gate tomorrow.
It will take 10mins from Sakura hostel on foot.

The marathon is start at 9am from Shinjuku,
so the first runner will come around 10:30am.(maybe?)

I missed the last time, so I'll try to take a picture this time:)

That's why she seemed happy today;)

The last time I went to the concert was two years ago and it was our guest's live.
Sometimes, we have musicians here as our guests.

We are waiting for some big big artists:p

going to their concert tonight.
They were surprised because I didn't know them.

I'm unstudied in musics now...:(

Abe san!!

If you are night person, you may remember him↓↓
abe1.jpg
He appeared unexpectedly today and brought us "yakitori"( grilled chicken)
as a present:)

He had worked with us as a night shift staff and left in last Aug.
It was my first time to see him since he left here.
We were happy to know that he's doing good☆

14th of Feb.

chocolate.jpg chocolate.jpg chocolate.jpg

I'm wondering why the women have to give a chocolate to the men on Valentine's Day.
Because I heard that in the USA, women can be treated as a princess by men on that day.
I love chocolate sooo much and I just envy the people in the America.

chocolate.jpg chocolate.jpg chocolate.jpg

Though Sakura Hostel is in Japan, it's kind of borderless world.
So you can just follow your custom;)

Antenna shop

anntena1.jpg
Have you ever heard of Antenna shops?
It's a name of the shop which sell many local specialties.
So, if you have no time for visiting the other areas
such as Kyoto, Osaka and so on, you can still have a chance to get them in Tokyo.

Where are those shops?
Most of them (20shops) are located around Tokyo station.
Some of them are in big cities such as Shinjuku and Ginza.
You can stop by and see them anytime easily:)

I'm back ! vol.2

Fortunately, my third day was Wednesday which has a night market at Chamorro village.
There were many many stalls that sell cheap souvenirs
and I got some pairs of pierced earrings:)

Also, I got some local foods called Pigigi (I'm not sure the spell...) and red rice.
IMG_2032.JPG

We could enjoy Chamorro dance and fire dance for free!
The girls were very lovely and boys who did fire dance were so cool;)

People in Guam are really friendly and have big smiles.
I had a great time there thanks to my friends.
Arigatou!!

I'll definitely come back again in near the future☆

snow♪snow♪snow♪

I supposed to upload about continuation of yesterday,
but we have unusual day today and I wanna tell you about it.

It's snowing all the day today and snow is getting thick on the ground.
yukikaki 002.jpg

Tomo started to clear of snow in order not to slip in front of our hostel.
yukikaki 001.jpg
We are worrying about our guest's flight...
Hopefully, nobody get stuck at the airport.

I'm back!!

Thank you for posting blogs, Tomo.

I took five days off and went to the Guam with my friend;)
It was my kind of the first time.
(though it was my third time but the last time was about 20years ago...)

So, let me tell you about my trip here♪
The first day, we drove all the way around the island with my local friend there.
It took only about 2hours and there were many beautiful places along the beach.
For example...↓↓
IMG_1959.JPG
How beautiful it was!

On the second day, we went to the beach as most of tourists do.
Even though the weather was perfect, there were not so many people,
so it was like our private beach:)
IMG_1970.JPG

Do you have any idea what we were trying to do on this picture?
IMG_1982.JPG
Can you read “HEY”? Yes, you can;)

I put on sunblock all of my body and face but the power of sun was so strong...
My sun tan is also good souvenir.

On the afternoon, I went to the nail salon in a shopping mall.
It's so cheap than Tokyo but the quality was good enough☆

to be continued...

Sakura original Tokyo railway map

Sakura Group designed its original railway map of Tokyo in English. It includes both subways and JR lines on the same sheet for your convenience. (You might have an experience of having difficulty finding a JR map in English.)

You can get it for free at any branch of Sakura Hotel Group including our hostel.

Could you let us know what else would help you if we had it at our hostel?
