Feliz Cumpleanos!!

Julio (the guy in the middle), one of our guests from Spain, had his birthday today.
Happy birthday! His friends traveling with him gave him a beautiful wall ornament decorated with a Japanese kimono woman on it.

Hope this is going to be one of his unforgettable birthday memories.

Hi hi, Tomo writes here again.
2 months and half since the opening! It was quick.

We have had more than 5,000 guests.
Thank you every one! Come back to see us one day, or drop by this page to see how we are doing.
We are always here, Mi casa es tu casa, ciao.

Super Woman★

Misae is also one of our staff and working with Satoshi.
They are good partners!

She is always smiling and enjoying her job.
If you miss your mom in your country, speak to her and you'll feel better soon.

Usually, we have two staffs for cleaning everyday but sometime they have no partners.
Even though she is alone, she finishes all her task in time.
She is cute but powerful,too!!

First Blog!!

Hi, this is my first entry. I've been in Japan now just over two months; since Sakura Hostel Asakusa opened. I'll try to use my blog to cover some of my experiences of living in Japan, and give you some ideas of things you could do while you stay here.

Last Sunday we visited Yoyogi Koen. This is a large park surrounding the Meiji Jingu shrine (Tokyo's largest). The park itself is pretty nice to walk through/picnic in, especially if the weather's good. But, alongside the park lots of young people perform their music, dance, etc., and this lasts quite a way towards Shibuya. On the way we also passed a festival showcasing India, and there were lots of stalls sending Indian food. In the same area we also passed a crowd gathered around a film crew. They were filming lots of Japanese guys dressed like Elvis, and then we saw Brittany Murphy, it appears she was filming a new film called the 'Ramen Girl', unfortunately I didn't have my camera on me to prove it!

busy morning.

We have 2 groups of the guests from Australia right now.
In the morning, we can see many people are having breakfast from the front desk.

They are young and eat a lot!
I'm happy to see it♪

I hope they would have a lot of good experiences and come back someday here.
I'm looking forward to seeing you again.

Let's cooking♪

yuri's blog 003.jpg
Eating out is one of pleasure for travelers but if you will stay for a long term,
it is better to cook by yourself.
You can save your money and also it's much better for your health.
We have an ideal kitchen for those people.

Anyone can use pans, cooking tools and dishes that we prepare.
Most of seasonings or spices are available.

I like to see someone cooking in our kitchen because I can smell yummy foods
and sometime they give us a little bite!
I'm always ready to taste what you cook☆

SUPER MAN!!

yuri's blog.jpg
Let me introduce one of our important staff today.
His name is Satoshi who is taking charge of cleaning our hostel.

He is doing not only cleaning but repairing anything what we ask for.
Also, he speaks English so if you see him in our hostel, please feel free to speak to him♪

Our guests often complimented for the cleanness of our hostel.
Well, next time, I'd like to introduce the other members.

Terrace

yuri's blog 001.jpg
Our terrace is opened from 7am to 10 pm.
Looks pretty, doesn't it?
You can smoke, have some tea, read a book, talk with your friend, make friends and take a nap here.
If you feel tire after walking around, please have a seat and take a break.

Summer was over and Autumn is coming.
Autumn in Japan is the best season to travel around because it's not too hot but not cold.
We are always waiting for your smile☆

THE NIPPON

IMG_1064.JPG
On 16th, we held a Japanese traditional party as I mentioned the last time.

1. Tea ceremony
I realized that it is very difficult to explain what the tea ceremony was.
Though it takes about more than 40 mins if I do the whole steps of tea ceremony, every movements have
an important meanings.
But for our guests, I just want them to enjoy our traditional culture and have a good time.

2. Noh play
I also had been looking forward to seeing it because it was my first time.
The guests seemed surprised at it because of their distinctive song, action and instruments.
The next time, I want to see it with having a seat, not from the front desk...

3. Shakuhachi performance (and soprano saxophone!)
The rich tones of a shakuhachi make people relax.
Shakuhachi is a kind of flute which is made of banboo.
Mr. Mori can blow not only Shakuhachi but aso Soprano saxphone.

It was a really good night★
Did you miss them? How poor!
We may have diffefrent party again, so don't worry about it.
We are also waiting for your advice.

Be Japanized.

On this coming Saturday, we will have a Japanese Traditional Entertainment Night.

You can join a tea ceremony ( I'll do it!), Noh play(my coworker will do this!)
and Shakuhachi performance on this day.

This is the only chance you have to experience three different traditional forms
of entertainment on the same day!

You can't miss this night★
